Happy MLK Jr. Day!

I just wanted to add some of the things I do with my 5th graders to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The first thing I do is choose an already made powerpoint from the web that talks about his life.

 I simply google
and lots of goodies pop up!

There are lots of video clips on Youtube to download, including the whole I have a dream speech.

(Go to www.keepvid.com to download Youtube videos that you can show in your classroom.)

I also like to talk about Human Rights quite a bit during the whole week. I love sharing the Ruby Bridges story with my class.
I also have the Ruby Bridges movie on DVD.
