I just don't feel like any holiday is complete without a food graph!
Will your students catch a leprechaun? Well, my students will try!

What's your favorite part about teaching
during St. Patrick's Day?

I love St. Patrick's Day because it makes me think of my Grandma - whose blood runs green :) Every year we have corned beef and cabbage, my mom would make green mashed potatoes, green kool-aid, and green bread {and I continue this tradition for my own children}. Oh, and of course wearing my Kiss Me, I'm Irish pin {'cause I really am :)}
Great activities... I love making magic pudding with the kids and seeing their faces when the pudding turns green!
Thanks so much Rachelle! I love it all. :)
Thank you for offering FREE FABULOUS resources for us Rachelle! You are amazing! :)

Thanks for the free mini unit download! You are so generous. :) I love to make "Shamrock Shakes" with my students using green lime sherbet and Sprite. The kids sure do enjoy it! I also like to do the Potato Race Experiment. firstgradefactory.blogspot.com

Here are the directions to the potato race experiment at Google Docs:

I also created activity pages to go with each step: writing a hypothesis, recording the results by making a graph, noting observations, and drawing conclusions. They are available for download at my TpT page.

I love everything to have a theme also. I'm that girl that has hand and kitchen towels for EVERY holiday and change out my wreaths and decor for each season. I love the St. Patricks Day unit. It is such a fun day that can often be over looked. I love all of your units. I made a five day plan of the Dr. Seuss unit on my blog and definately plan to incorporate this unit over the next two weeks! Thanks Thanks Thanks!

Thanks for another awesome unit! So I have a question for you...What program do you use to make your cute worksheets? Do you just use Word or do you have an editing program? Mine are never as cute and I get so frustrated with Word.
Girl, you are ON IT! Thanks so much for posting - I will definitely be using :)
LOVE IT! You are a St. Patrick's Day GENIUS!!!!

Wow! I can't believe how wonderful and all inclusive this is. Thank you so much for the fantastic free post. I am a new teacher so I can't always afford TPT. I am so thankful that you are willing to share with us. You took the stress out of trying to find new ideas this month. (Now I can finish my report cards...boo)
Thanks for sharing!
Great unit! I am ashamed to admit that I have nothing for St. Patrick's Day and I have been teaching for 13 years! This is going to be great in my class. Thanks for keeping it free for us!

Hey, I just love your colour code sheet. It is too cute! Speaking of cute you should download my free "over the rainbow" hat. I have been making them for 8 years now and they are always a huge hit! Check it out on www.missmernagh.com

Love it! I teach K, so I have modified it a little bit, but am so thankful to you for posting such cute, creative ideas!!! We actually made the flag today with torn paper (gotta get some fine motor practice in there!). Thanks again for your hard work - you are definitely an inspiration!!
Came back to say that you inspired me! I used your leprechaun color by sight word page this week in my art center. My students loved it! I love activities that involve students reading to follow directions. Students enjoy coloring...so why not incorporate reading and coloring together!! Your inspiration led me to create some activity pages where students must color by identifying high frequency sight words based on the Dolch word lists. As an extension, I incorporated sentences utilizing sight words and number words that students must read to correctly color the picture. There are 6 activity pages in all. Head over to my blog for a free download @ firstgradefactory.blogspot.com
Thank you for your inspiration!!
Excellent mini unit! Thanks! Many times I have to search long and hard pulling pieces from various units and remaking many of the products to meet my picky standards. You have done all the leg work for me! Your blog posts are some of my favorite!
